About the AstroRani Collection
The AstroRani Collection is a celebration of identity, history, and representation. Inspired by the intricate beauty of 16th-century Mughal miniatures, artist Suede reimagines the traditional depictions of South Asian royalty by honoring the true diversity of the region—from deep, rich skin tones to the unique contours of every face.
Each of the 12 Ranis in this collection is a tribute to the real people in Suede’s life—his friends, his community, his inspirations. These Ranis are more than just celestial figures; they are warriors, lovers, dreamers, and revolutionaries. They are LGBTQ+ Ranis, disabled Ranis, fierce Ranis—each carrying a story, a struggle, and a triumph.
With every AstroRani print, you are bringing home more than just art—you are claiming a piece of history rewritten, a love letter to South Asia’s true beauty, and a statement that representation matters. Which Rani speaks to you?
